Hose Routing & Configuration

Hose management is about eliminating "snag loops" and improving ergonomics. The correct length ensures your gear remains streamlined and accessible in an emergency.

1. Primary & Octopus

  • Primary (75cm – 90cm): Standard over-the-shoulder routing.
  • Octopus (100cm / 40"): The industry standard for recreational air sharing. The extra length is critical for providing comfortable "breathing room" between divers during an ascent.
  • Long Hose (210cm / 7ft): The technical standard for primary air sharing in overhead or restricted environments.

2. High Pressure (HP) Gauge Hoses

  • Technical (60cm / 24"): The standard for backmount technical diving. Sized to clip to the left waist D-ring or shoulder D-ring, keeping the gauge within the diver's profile.
  • Recreational (80cm / 32"): Common for standard jacket BCD configurations. This length provides the necessary slack to pull the SPG forward for a clear reading or to route it comfortably under the arm.

3. Drysuit Inflator

  • Standard (56cm – 65cm): Traditional over-the-shoulder routing.
  • Pro-Routing (75cm – 100cm): Routed under the arm and across the chest. This prevents the hose from restricting shoulder movement and keeps the area clear for valve access.

4. Backup & Stage

  • Necklace (56cm – 62cm): Sized to sit tucked under the chin for immediate, hands-free access to your backup regulator.
  • Stage/Deco (100cm): Allows for a clean loop that sits flush against the cylinder, minimizing drag.

Oceanauts Standard: If your hoses are bowing away from your body or pulling at your mouth, they are poorly sized. We stock lengths for every configuration to ensure a tailored, professional fit.
