Scuba Diver – Build the Foundations of Your Underwater Journey

Where the Mourne Mountains descend into the sea, the sheltered waters of Carlingford Lough offer the perfect place to begin your diving adventure. The Scuba Diver Course is your first step into that world — a steady, supportive introduction to the skills that will carry you into deeper exploration.

Guided by Dain McParland and the Oceanauts team, you’ll learn the essentials of safe and confident diving. From controlled sessions in the pool to your first open water descents, every moment is designed to help you feel at home beneath the surface. And because this course completes nearly half of the full Open Water Diver program, you can effortlessly continue your training whenever you’re ready.

No prior experience necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Typically delivered over three weeks, with flexible scheduling built around your availability.

Your Path Forward

This is a standards-based program. If additional training dives are needed to meet certification requirements, these can be arranged at £70 per additional dive.

And when you're ready, upgrading to the full Open Water Diver certification is seamless — simply complete the remaining pool sessions and two more open water dives.
