SCUBA FORCE SF2 ECCR: Backmount System
The Ultimate Streamlined Life Support System The Scuba Force SF2 ECCR represents a paradigm shift in closed-circuit rebreather design. Engineered for demanding technical divers, the SF2 abandons the cluttered, chest-heavy designs of traditional rebreathers. By housing the counterlung and all critical components inside a single, sleek carbon-fiber tube, the SF2 provides the exact profile and feel of diving a standard back-mounted cylinder. It is the ultimate tool for deep wreck penetration, cave exploration, and aggressive North Atlantic conditions where a clean profile is mandatory.
Key Technical Features:
- The "Clean Chest" Profile: With no over-the-shoulder (OTS) counterlungs, your chest remains entirely free. This allows for effortless access to D-rings, unimpeded valve drills, and highly efficient management of stage and bailout cylinders.
- Linear Component Architecture: The SF2 is stacked logically within its carbon tube. The electronics are positioned safely at the top, the scrubber in the middle, and the counterlung at the bottom. This creates a natural water trap—any moisture entering the loop is kept far away from critical sensors.
- Carbon Fiber Housing: The central tube is constructed from high-grade carbon fiber, offering immense structural strength, reduced weight, and a highly hydrodynamic profile in the water.
- Shearwater Electronics Integration: The unit operates on the industry gold standard. It integrates seamlessly with Shearwater electronics (Petrel or NERD systems) for ultra-reliable PO2 monitoring and decompression tracking.
- Tool-less Assembly: Designed for field reliability, the SF2 can be completely assembled and disassembled without specialized tools, making pre-dive checks and post-dive maintenance incredibly efficient.
⚓ Oceanauts Academy: Tech Tip
The Physics of the Backmounted Counterlung Transitioning to the SF2 fundamentally changes how you move in the water.
- Work of Breathing (WOB) & Trim - Because the counterlung is located in the lower section of the carbon tube, it sits perfectly aligned with the center of your own lungs when you are in a horizontal trim position. This creates an incredibly low Work of Breathing (WOB) and naturally locks you into a flat, stable posture.
- Bailout Management - In technical diving, access to your bailout is critical. Traditional rebreathers often bury your chest D-rings under bulky counterlungs, forcing you to fight your gear to unclip a stage cylinder. The SF2's clean chest means your rigging skills and muscle memory from open-circuit twinset diving transfer directly over with little modification.
- The Water Trap Advantage - Condensation and minor loop flooding are realities of CCR diving. The SF2’s linear design uses gravity to its advantage. Any water in the breathing loop naturally drains into the lower counterlung space, keeping your scrubber material dry and your O2 sensors firing accurately at the top of the unit.
The Oceanauts Standard: A closed-circuit rebreather is not an off-the-shelf purchase; it is a bespoke life support partnership. Every SF2 is custom-configured at the Scuba Force factory to match your specific diving requirements.
